Future Learning's strategic planning consultants have developed strategic plans for human resource development for organizations such as the Atlantic Lottery Corporation, the Capital District Health Authority (Halifax, Nova Scotia), the Nova Scotia Department of Health, and the New Brunswick Department of Health and Wellness.
Our consultants have extensive experience planning and implementing information gathering methods; for example, our consultants have conducted hundreds of focus groups and interviews, by telephone and in face-to-face settings, to gather stakeholder input for strategic planning and evaluation solutions.
We have designed many evaluation and assessment instruments using paper-based and online survey tools. Future Learning has led several strategic planning research projects in partnership with universities and private sector partners in which we have conducted needs assessment studies, broad literature reviews and evaluations and have written extensive evaluation reports: for example, Future Learning conducted research and completed a comprehensive literature review for the HRSDC Strategic Policy and Research Directorate regarding innovative learning approaches for small- and medium-sized business owners In Canada; a program evaluation of the Department of National Defence Canadian Land Forces Transition Command Course; the Dalhousie University Faculty of Health Professions distance learning program; the eduSource Canada Learning Object Repository Project; and, the Arts-Netlantic Culture, Multimedia, Technology, and Cognition Conference and Project; as well as the Enhancing the Readiness of Women in Small and Medium Enterprises to Utilize Learning Technologies Project. Future Learning recently completed a research project for the Electricity Sector Council which involved identifying and researching the demand, certification, and training paths of critical occupations in the electricity sector for national occupational standards development. We also completed a research project for the Canadian Tourism Human Resources Council to identify essential skills required of immigrant workers to successfully integrate workers into tourism occupations in Canada.
